The Laboratory of Special Vocational Education of Agios Dimitrios (Ε.Ε.Ε.ΕΚ. of Agios
Dimitrios) is a public Secondary School,
under the Special Education Directorate of the Ministry of Education.
The school is attended by 240 students with disabilities and special education needs, aged 13 to 22 years, mainly with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who have completed a special or general primary school.
The study in the school lasts for 6 years. The school provides vocational training in the specialties: ceramics, gardening, carpentry, plumping, cooking-confectionery and sewing. Within the school building there is a great number of educational resources (highly equiped laboratories, library, physiotherapy and occupational therapy rooms,
internal swimming pool, indoor and outdoor gym, amphitheatre).
The teaching staff consists of 100 teachers and 20 specialist scientific and support staff, all of whom have many years of in-class teaching experience in special education schools and specialized postgraduated studies.
Taking into account the importance of student participation in school projects they organize career education programs, environmental, cultural, health education
and they implement innovative actions.
